Professional Conduct

Members are expected to communicate and interact professionally, respectfully, and in good faith with other members. Harassment, bullying, threats, discrimination, intimidation, or abusive behavior are prohibited.

Accurate Information

Members must provide truthful and current information regarding their identity, professional experience, licensing, state coverage, company affiliation, loan-product experience, availability, and other profile information.

Members are responsible for updating information when it materially changes.

Members must maintain the licenses, registrations, and company approvals required for the services they offer and promptly update any loss or restriction of that authority.

No Misrepresentation

Members may not:

  • Impersonate another person or business
  • Falsely represent credentials or experience
  • Misrepresent licensing or NMLS information
  • Create misleading profiles
  • Manipulate questionnaire responses solely to generate better compatibility scores

Appropriate Use of Matches

Matches should be used for legitimate professional networking and partnership purposes.

Members may not use Connect2Close to engage in prohibited conduct, including:

  • Spam other members
  • Mass solicit members
  • Harvest contact information
  • Build outside marketing lists
  • Sell unrelated products/services
  • Use another member's information for purposes unrelated to the intended professional connection

Respect for Matches

A compatibility match does not create an obligation for either member to communicate, respond, interview, engage, contract with, or conduct business with the other member.

Ratings and Reviews

If Connect2Close makes a ratings or reviews feature available, members may review only a match with whom they have had a legitimate interaction or working relationship.

Reviews should:

  • Reflect genuine firsthand experiences
  • Be truthful
  • Remain professional
  • Not contain knowingly false information
  • Not disclose confidential borrower or loan information
  • Not be used to retaliate against another member

Truthful negative reviews and lawful reports to regulators are permitted. False reviews, undisclosed material conflicts, and payments or benefits conditioned on a positive or negative review are prohibited.

Confidentiality & Borrower Information

Members may not submit, exchange, or transmit actual loan files or borrower nonpublic personal information through any Connect2Close feature or support channel.

Members may not submit, transmit, post, or upload borrower information, loan documents, Social Security numbers, financial information, credit information, or other confidential consumer information.

No Sharing Accounts

Each membership must belong to the registered member or business account.

Members may not:

  • Share login credentials
  • Allow unauthorized users to access paid features
  • Transfer memberships
  • Create duplicate/fraudulent accounts to manipulate matching

No Manipulating the Matching System

Members may not attempt to:

  • Artificially alter compatibility scores
  • Create false profiles
  • Manipulate questionnaire responses
  • Circumvent match limits
  • Scrape member information
  • Reverse-engineer the matching methodology
  • Use bots or automated tools to access member data

Independent Professional Relationships

Members remain responsible for deciding whether another member is appropriate for their business.

Connect2Close is not responsible for supervising any subsequent professional relationship between members.

Members remain responsible for their own:

  • Licensing and regulatory compliance
  • Contracts and compensation arrangements
  • Insurance requirements
  • Employment or independent-contractor requirements
  • Company policies

Members may not offer or accept prohibited referral fees, kickbacks, or fee splits, including those prohibited by RESPA Section 8 where applicable.

Reporting & Enforcement

Please report suspected violations, including:

  • Harassment
  • False information
  • Suspected fraud
  • Licensing concerns
  • Inappropriate solicitation
  • Fraudulent ratings or reviews, if applicable
  • Misuse of member information
  • Other policy violations

Connect2Close reserves the ability to investigate and, where appropriate, warn, restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts.
