Connect2Close, LLC ("Connect2Close," "we," "us," or "our") operates a professional networking and compatibility-matching platform for mortgage-industry professionals. This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, disclose, and retain personal information when you visit connect2close.co, create or maintain an account, complete a profile or compatibility questionnaire, use matching or communication features, purchase a membership, contact us, or otherwise use the Connect2Close platform and related services (collectively, the "Services").
The Services are intended for professional business use by adults. Connect2Close is not intended to collect borrower loan files, Social Security numbers, credit reports, bank-account credentials, passwords, or other confidential consumer loan information. Members must not submit that information through the Services unless Connect2Close expressly provides a separate, approved method for doing so.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide. We collect information that you provide when you create or update an account, complete a professional profile or questionnaire, purchase a membership, communicate through the Services, submit a review or rating, request support, or otherwise contact us. Depending on how you use the Services, this may include your name, business contact information, employer or company affiliation, professional role, licensing or registration information, professional experience, profile information, questionnaire responses, preferences, communications, reviews or ratings, and other information you choose to provide.
Professional and public-source information. We may obtain or confirm professional information from publicly available sources, professional registries, licensing databases, business websites, or information provided by other members. Publicly available information remains subject to the terms and restrictions applicable to the source from which it was obtained.
Payment and subscription information. When you purchase or renew a membership, payment information is processed through one or more payment service providers. We may receive information needed to confirm and administer the transaction, such as billing contact information, subscription status, payment-method type, transaction identifiers, payment status, and related records. Connect2Close does not use payment-card information to determine compatibility or matching results.
Technical and usage information. When you use the Services, our systems and service providers may automatically receive technical information such as Internet Protocol address, browser or device type, operating system, referring pages, pages or features used, dates and times of access, and diagnostic or security information. The website may use cookies or similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, performance, and analytics. Where applicable law requires a consent or opt-out mechanism for particular technologies, Connect2Close will provide the required choice.
2. How We Use Information
We use personal information to create and administer accounts and memberships; provide profiles, compatibility assessments, match recommendations, and related platform features; facilitate professional introductions and member communications; process and administer subscriptions; provide support; maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the Services; detect fraud, misuse, or violations of our Terms or Community Guidelines; communicate administrative, service, and legally required notices; protect the rights, safety, and property of Connect2Close and others; and comply with applicable law and legal process.
Profile information and questionnaire responses may be used to calculate or present compatibility information and potential professional matches. Compatibility information is an informational networking tool. It is not a credit decision, employment decision, licensing determination, legal or compliance opinion, or guarantee of qualifications, performance, or business results.
3. How Information May Be Disclosed
Other members. Information intended for professional networking may be displayed or disclosed to other members as part of profiles, matching results, compatibility information, reviews, ratings, introductions, or member-to-member communications. Members should provide only information they are comfortable sharing with the audience indicated by the applicable feature.
Service providers. We may disclose information to vendors and service providers that perform services for Connect2Close, such as website hosting, cloud storage, payment processing, communications, email delivery, analytics, security, customer support, and technical administration. They may use the information only as permitted by their agreements with Connect2Close and applicable law.
Legal and protective purposes. We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena, court order, regulatory request, or other legal process, or when reasonably necessary to investigate fraud or misuse, enforce our agreements, protect the security of the Services, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Connect2Close, our members, or others.
Business transactions. If Connect2Close is involved in a merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, acquisition, or similar business transaction, personal information may be disclosed or transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
At your direction. We may disclose information when you direct us to do so, when you use a feature that is designed to share information with another member, or when you otherwise authorize the disclosure.
4. Sale, Advertising, and Commercial Use of Personal Information
Connect2Close does not sell member profile information or compatibility-questionnaire responses as a standalone data product or disclose that information to third parties in exchange for monetary payment. Connect2Close uses member information principally to operate, administer, secure, and improve the Services and to provide the professional networking and matching functions requested by members.
If Connect2Close later engages in a form of targeted advertising, data sharing, or other activity that applicable privacy law defines as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, this Notice will be updated and Connect2Close will provide any notice, consent, or opt-out mechanism required by applicable law.
5. Borrower and Other Sensitive Information
Connect2Close is a professional networking platform and is not intended to serve as a system for transmitting or storing borrower loan files or confidential consumer financial records. Do not submit Social Security numbers, credit reports, bank statements, financial-account credentials, passwords, tax returns, borrower identification documents, or other nonpublic consumer loan information through the Services unless Connect2Close expressly provides an approved secure process for that purpose.
If information of that nature is submitted inadvertently, Connect2Close may restrict access to it, remove it, preserve it when required for security or legal purposes, notify an affected party when required by law, or take other reasonable steps appropriate to the circumstances.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and administer the Services, maintain appropriate business and transaction records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, investigate misuse or security incidents, and enforce our agreements. Different categories of information may be retained for different periods. When information is no longer reasonably needed, we may delete, de-identify, or securely retain it in accordance with applicable law and legitimate record-retention requirements.
Cancellation of a membership does not necessarily require immediate deletion of all account information. Connect2Close may retain information after cancellation when reasonably necessary for billing records, tax or accounting requirements, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, security, enforcement of agreements, or other lawful purposes.
7. Security
Connect2Close uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information and the Services. No website, network, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Members are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials and for promptly notifying Connect2Close of suspected unauthorized account access.
8. Your Choices and Privacy Rights
You may review or update certain account and profile information through available account settings. You may also contact Connect2Close to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity or authority before acting on a request.
Privacy rights vary by jurisdiction and may be subject to exceptions. Where applicable law gives you additional rights concerning access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, targeted advertising, sale or sharing of personal information, or other processing, Connect2Close will honor verified requests as required by that law. We will not discriminate against a person for exercising a privacy right protected by applicable law.
A deletion request may be denied or limited when retention is reasonably necessary or legally permitted, including to complete transactions, maintain required records, prevent fraud, protect security, exercise or defend legal claims, comply with law, or enforce our agreements.
9. Email and Service Communications
We may send service-related communications concerning your account, membership, billing, security, policy changes, support requests, or other administrative matters. Where we send marketing communications, you may use the unsubscribe mechanism provided in the communication or contact us to request that marketing messages stop. Opting out of marketing does not prevent necessary transactional, security, billing, or account communications.
10. Third-Party Services and Links
The Services may contain links to third-party websites, services, professional registries, payment providers, or other resources. Connect2Close does not control the privacy practices of unaffiliated third parties. Information that you provide directly to a third party is governed by that third party's terms and privacy practices.
11. Children
The Services are intended only for persons who are at least 18 years old and are using the platform for professional business purposes. We do not knowingly permit minors to create member accounts. If we learn that a minor has created an account or submitted personal information in violation of this requirement, we may deactivate the account and take reasonable steps to delete the information, subject to applicable legal or security requirements.
12. Changes to This Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time to reflect changes in the Services, our practices, or applicable law. The "Last Updated" date identifies the most recent revision. If a change materially affects how we use or disclose personal information, we will provide any additional notice or consent required by applicable law.
